Sleep Tips: How to sleep better

Things To Try Before Going To Sleep

Do you think you have sleeping disorder? Well here is a good intro to introduce yourself to a good nights sleep. Sleep is important and having restful sleep helps your body to re-gain energy and heal itself while you are sleeping.
The long term effects of sleep deprivation can leave you physically and emotionally drained.
As much as we pay attention to other activities in life, one also has to pay equally important attention to getting the right amounts of sleep.

Tips To Try Before Going To Bed

1. Try not to eat an hour or two before your bed time. Keep this in mind if you and your family eat late dinners. This will help to prevent problems with indigestion and also prevents you from experiencing heartburn. Any discomfort, will decrease your chances of a good nights sleep.
2. Rest in a warm bath or have a hot shower. Hot water relieves your tight or tense muscles, leaving you more relaxed and being able to sleep better.
3. Slip on your pj's and get comfortable in your bed. Your night clothing should be comfortable and not cause you any restrictions while you are asleep. You don't want to interrupt your sleep to adjust your clothing in the middle of the night.
4. Do lots of things in the day to help you feel tired. Here is a double bonus try going for a jog or a swim at night before going to bed not only do you get some exercise but you'll feel tired and ready for bed feeling good. A tired and exhausted person sleeps better.
5. Maybe if you're a book person, try to read a book before going to bed. Preferably a boring or scientific book that will make you drowsy. Any reading material that will help you get drowsy and go straight to sleep is a good book.
6. Clear your mind. Avoid thinking about today's problems there is not much that you can do while your asleep, so try not to think so much. If for some reason you can't stop thinking, then at least try to think about happy thoughts to help put yourself in a place on mind to sleep. If you think about problems while trying to sleep can make it difficult to fall asleep. These problems can be dealt with the next day.
